Irell Fails To Get Charter Suit Tossed

Law360 (November 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Law firm Irell & Manella must go up against a $150 million malpractice suit filed by cable operator Charter Communications for allegedly bungling a 1999 cable TV acquisition.

The law firm lost its bid to toss the case out of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Tuesday. Irell had claimed that it was unable to properly defend itself because the firm represents nonparty Paul Allen, Charter’s chairman and a co-founder of Microsoft Corp.
