Boston Scientific Liable For Stent Infringement: Jury

Law360, New York (November 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court jury has held Boston Scientific Corp. liable for infringing on Cordis Corp.'s stent patents, in a ruling that comes at the end of a five-year battle between the medical device makers.

Jurors in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday ruled that although Boston Scientific did not infringe directly on Cordis' balloon catheter technology patents, the company was liable under the doctrine of equivalents, according to Boston Scientific.
