Call Center Workers Accuse Centene Of Obstructing OT Action

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 5:14 PM EDT) -- Call center workers at Medicaid insurer Centene Corp. asked a Texas federal judge Monday to force disclosure of other staffers who might also feel they were wrongly denied overtime pay, saying the company has lied about employment arrangements to obstruct certification of a national collective action.

In a motion to compel discovery, the workers accuse Centene of falsely claiming that only subsidiary Centene Co. of Texas LP employs the plaintiffs, allowing the parent corporation to escape responsibility for identifying similarly situated call center staffers in other states....
