Occidental Skirts $10.5M Award In Texas Royalties Row

Law360, Dallas (October 31, 2012, 10:40 PM EDT) -- A Texas appellate court on Wednesday reversed a $10.5 million judgment against Occidental Permian Ltd. and rendered a take-nothing judgment against West Texas landowners who said they were underpaid royalties, setting new precedent for how courts treat an alternative method of producing oil.
