FTS Cable Techs Awarded $3.8M In FLSA Overtime Suit

Law360, New York (November 2, 2012, 3:04 PM EDT) -- A Tennessee federal judge on Wednesday hit UniTek USA LLC with $3.8 million in damages based on a jury’s finding that the company’s FTS USA LLC subsidiary had improperly withheld overtime wages to hundreds of cable installation technicians.

Judge John T. Fowlkes Jr. awarded 296 FTS technicians $1.9 million in overtime damages and $1.9 million in liquidated damages, almost exactly one year after he approved a jury's verdict that the company had willfully violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
