Kirkland, Mayer Brown Aid GTCR In $1.5B BofA Unit Purchase

Law360, New York (November 1, 2012, 6:29 PM EDT) -- Chicago private equity firm GTCR LLC has forked over $1.45 billion for a Bank of America Corp. unit that allows individuals and businesses in the U.K. to pay insurance premiums in installments rather than as single annual payments, the firm said Thursday.

The buyout group did not give a financing breakdown, but said it had covered its Premium Credit Ltd. purchase through a $3.25 billion fund raised in 2011. The firm also had nailed down backing from a consortium of lenders including Barclays PLC, Deutsche Bank...
