Seagate Settles Class Action Over Drive Storage

Law360 (November 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Seagate Technology LLC could pay more than $23 million in a nationwide class action settlement which resolves allegations that the company scammed customers out of hard disc drive storage space.

Seagate reached the settlement in two lawsuits filed in a California state court which accused the Scotts Valley, Calif.-based technology company of misleading customers about the actual storage capacity of a gigabyte.
