Calif. Resolves Medicaid Contract Fight With Health Net

Law360, New York (November 5, 2012, 5:15 PM EST) -- California has agreed to extend several contracts and potentially make a payment of up to $264 million to settle a Medicaid rate dispute with managed care company Health Net Inc., according to a Monday regulatory filing.

Under the terms of the settlement, made public in Health Net's filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the state's Department of Health Care Services will extend by five years each of four existing contracts to end litigation with Health Net over historical Medi-Cal — California’s implementation of Medicaid —...
