Commerce Looks Into Canadian Lumber Subsidies

Law360, New York (November 6, 2012, 4:36 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce said Tuesday it was gathering public input for a report detailing foreign subsidies on softwood lumber imported from countries including Canada, as U.S. lumber companies target the federal government over a duty dispute with that nation.

Commerce — which is required by Congress to produce six-month updates that provide information on foreign softwood lumber subsidies — said it planned to include a list of subsidy programs in other countries based partly on comments from the public, according to a notice in...
