Pa. Landowners Say Halcon Broke Oil, Gas Rights Agreements

Law360, New York (November 6, 2012, 8:22 PM EST) -- Halcon Energy Properties Inc. on Tuesday was hit with a proposed class action by Mercer County, Pa., landowners claiming the company reneged on contracts to lease their oil and gas rights, withdrawing its agreements for more than 1,700 parcels of land.

The company launched an aggressive campaign to purchase oil and gas rights from Mercer County landowners, but suddenly ended the deal before it even started, leaving more than 1,500 landowners with unfulfilled contracts, according to the complaint.
