EADS Offices Raided In $229M German Bribery Probe

Law360, New York (November 7, 2012, 8:19 PM EST) -- Prosecutors in Germany reportedly raided the offices of defense contractor European Aeronautic Defense & Space Co. NV on Wednesday as part of a $229 million kickbacks investigation over the sale of fighter jets to Austria. 

German prosecutors wouldn't comment on the scope of the scheme, but Austrian media reported that the kickbacks may have involved payments of €180 million ($229 million) from EADS to government middlemen and lobbyists, according to a report in the International Herald Tribune.
