Tom Hanks' Insurance Broker Charged With Bilking Clients

Law360, Los Angeles (November 7, 2012, 10:22 PM EST) -- A southern California insurance agent was arrested Wednesday on federal mail fraud charges alleging he bilked clients including actor Tom Hanks and rock musician Andy Summers out of more than $800,000 by overbilling them for insurance policies.

According to a 10-count indictment, Jerry B. Goldman, 59, created false invoices on his J.B.G. Insurance Agency letterhead for premium payments, inflating them by as much as 600 percent.
