Convictions Upheld In Yonkers Bribes-For-Housing Case

Law360, New York (November 8, 2012, 8:41 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge Wednesday upheld criminal convictions against former Yonkers officials, saying they failed to prove there was insufficient evidence to convict them of taking bribes to greenlight two housing and mixed-use projects, including one developed by Forest City Ratner.

While serving on the Yonkers City Council, Sandy Annabi approved two projects she initially vocally opposed. Forest City Ratner's Ridge Hill project, on nearly 100 acres in Yonkers, included housing, retail, restaurants and a conference center, according to court records. In the Longfellow project,...
