Conrad Black Won't Get Retrial

Law360, New York (November 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Lord Conrad Black and the other convicted Hollinger International Inc. former executives have lost their shot at a retrial, but their former lawyer left court with one less conviction.

Judge Amy St. Eve of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois handed down an order Monday refusing to acquit or retry Black and two of his alleged Hollinger co-conspirators, former chief financial officer John Boultbee and former vice president Peter Atkinson. Their sentencing is set for Nov. 30.
