Pentagon To Push Through New Round Of Contracting Reforms

Law360, New York (November 14, 2012, 9:48 PM EST) -- Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition Frank Kendall said Wednesday that the U.S. Department of Defense is advancing a new set of contracting initiatives called Better Buying Power 2.0 that aims to speed up contracting, reduce cost overruns and otherwise work with contractors to find efficiencies.

The new policy adds 36 initiatives to the agency's first Better Buying Power framework, which was put into place in June 2010 as part of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates' push to reduce inefficiencies in defense spending. After reviewing lessons learned,...
