Dirty Laundry In 7th Circ.: Recent Class Cert. Cases

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 1:02 PM EST) -- Suppose a person is having problems with his laundry — a problem with his washer or dryer. He finds out that a few other people are experiencing the same problem. He decides he wants to sue the manufacturer but quickly realizes that the claim isn’t worth enough to justify an individual suit. Can he bring a class action? In the Seventh Circuit, the answer apparently depends on whether the problem is with his washer or his dryer.
