Calif. City Lands $54M Settlement With Power Plant Engineers

Law360, New York (November 19, 2012, 5:18 PM EST) -- The city of Victorville, Calif., has scored a $54 million settlement with the engineering firm it accused of mismanaging the construction contract for a city-owned power plant, the city's lawyers announced Monday.

The deal comes a year and a half after a California judge upheld a $52.1 million jury verdict against international engineering firm Carter and Burgess, which now operates as Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. The company had served as the Foxborough Cogeneration Power Plant's design engineer, owner's engineer and construction manager.
