Beverly Hills School District Sues FTA Over LA Subway Plan

Law360, New York (November 21, 2012, 5:26 PM EST) -- The Beverly Hills Unified School District has hit the Federal Transit Administration with a lawsuit claiming its approval of the location of a subway station in Los Angeles' Century City district ignores environmental risks and the disruption it will cause a nearby high school.

The school district is looking to block federal funds for the Westside Subway Extension, which is a $5 billion project in Los Angeles that seeks more than $2 billion in federal funding, according to the complaint, filed Nov. 16.
