BT Blocked From Moving Patent Fight With Comcast

Law360, Dallas (December 3, 2012, 2:33 PM EST) -- A Texas federal judge on Monday refused to transfer a teleconferencing patent dispute between cable and Internet service giant Comcast Corp. and British Telecommunications PLC to Delaware, where the companies are now dueling over cable networking patents.

U.S. District Court Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn said that because BT Americas Inc. has headquarters in Irving, Texas, the only basis for moving the dispute out of the Northern District of Texas would be because of the existing litigation in Delaware. Since that dispute involves only some of the...
