Ex-Democratic Campaign Treasurer Gets 8 Years For $7M Scam

Law360, New York (November 28, 2012, 7:18 PM EST) -- The former treasurer of several Democratic political campaigns in California accused of stealing more than $7 million from her clients was sentenced Wednesday to eight years in prison and ordered to pay $10.5 million in restitution.

Kinde Durkee, 59, pled guilty to five counts of mail fraud in March. U.S. District Judge Kimberly J. Mueller handed her the 97-month sentence prosecutors had sought.
