Atty Gets Probation For Defrauding NJ Town

Law360, New York (November 29, 2012, 3:50 PM EST) -- The former attorney for Bergenfield, N.J., and a local Democratic organization was sentenced Thursday to probation for concealing his interest in a grants consulting company with which he encouraged the municipality to do business.

The sentence that U.S. Judge Stanley Chesler handed down in Newark federal court against Dennis J. Oury wraps up a criminal case that had taken an ironic twist for the politically connected lawyer, onetime counsel to the Bergen County Democratic Organization, who cooperated with the government.
