Senate Trims Anti-Biofuel Language From Defense Bill

Law360, New York (November 28, 2012, 6:34 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, proposed by Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., that will remove a provision aimed at preventing the U.S. Department of Defense from using biofuels in most cases.

Amendment 2985, which passed 62-37 after a floor vote, removes a biofuel restriction from the 2013 bill to allow the DOD to invest in biofuels. The NDAA establishes the federal government's defense policy and budgets and sets priorities for the U.S. military.
