FCC Says Text Opt-Out Confirmations Don't Violate TCPA

Law360, New York (November 30, 2012, 3:34 PM EST) -- The U.S. Federal Communications Commission issued a declaratory ruling Thursday in response to a petition filed by SoundBite Communications Inc., finding that text messages sent in confirmation of a consumer’s opt-out request do not violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
