Medicare Advantage Marketing Abuses

Law360 (November 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Deceptive marketing of Medicare Advantage products is posing problems for insurers, generating concern by federal and state regulators and gaining interest in Congress. Ironically, the current structure of the Medicare Advantage program itself facilitates marketing misconduct.

Thus, insurers writing Medicare Advantage products face a difficult and immediate challenge in developing methods to diminish the incidence of allegations of abusive marketing practices.
