Kasowitz, Vladeck Allowed To Leave Dakota Bias Suit

Law360, New York (December 5, 2012, 4:49 PM EST) -- A New York state judge on Friday granted law firms Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP and Vladeck Waldman Elias & Engelhard PC permission to withdraw from New York financier Alphonse Fletcher's discrimination suit against Manhattan apartment building the Dakota, leaving Fletcher unrepresented.

Justice Eileen A. Rakower gave Fletcher until Dec. 20 to hire new representation, according to the order. Representatives for Kasowitz and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, counsel for the Dakota, declined to comment Tuesday, while a spokesperson for Vladeck did not immediately...
