Credit Suisse Can't Ditch FHFA's Securities Loss Claims

Law360, New York (December 5, 2012, 5:09 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Wednesday refused to reconsider two earlier decisions to keep certain claims against Credit Suisse Securities LLC in the Federal Housing Finance Agency's suit alleging the bank lied about the actual worth of billions in residential mortgage-backed securities.

The suit, brought in New York district court, is one of several the FHFA has lodged against the Wall Street banks it says lied to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac about the true value of $200 billion in RMBS purchased by government-backed entities. The agency...
