Federal Charges Dismissed In Quiznos Case

Law360, New York (November 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed the federal racketeering and antitrust charges brought by a group of Quiznos restaurant owners against its parent company, although certain additional claims will be allowed to proceed in state court.

In a Nov. 5 opinion, Judge William Griesbach of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin said the plaintiffs' Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act claims were undermined by the “exhaustive disclosures and specific disclaimers and non-reliance clauses set forth in the franchise agreements they signed.”
