MyMail, Verizon Settle Patent Dispute Over Dial-Up Access Technology

Law360 (September 7, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Telecom carrier Verizon Communications Inc and Texas-based MyMail Ltd. have settled patent infringement litigation over technology for improving dial-up internet connectivity.

The suit, filed by MyMail in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas in April 2004, targeted against major Internet Service Providers (ISP), including AT&T Corp., America Online Inc., and Earthlink Inc. among others.

Verizon was dismissed from the suit in October 2004, pending an agreement. AOL was dismissed earlier this month.

Details of Verizon’s agreement were not available.
