Bergstein Bankruptcy Trustee Seeks 'Bad Faith' Sanctions

Law360, Los Angeles (December 6, 2012, 10:20 PM EST) -- The court-appointed trustee for the bankruptcy estates of five of David Bergstein's entertainment entities slammed the embattled film financier and his lawyer in a Wednesday court filing, saying they had submitted false financial statements and should be sanctioned for their “bad faith antics.”

Trustee Ronald Durkin expressed his frustration in a motion asking a bankruptcy judge to order Bergstein to correct the amended bankruptcy schedules he and attorney Victor Sahn filed in October. Creditors forced the five Bergstein companies into involuntary bankruptcy in March 2010, claiming...
