LA Council Greenlights $1.1B USC Expansion Plans

Law360, New York (December 11, 2012, 5:17 PM EST) -- The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday approved several resolutions, including certifying an environmental impact report that substantially cleared a path for the the University of Southern California to pursue its much-debated $1.1 billion campus expansion.

In a unanimous vote, the 15 members of the council approved two separate motions that covered the EIR, approving various zoning changes and authorizing the city attorney to execute a development agreement for USC's plan to build 5 million square feet of new academic, retail and housing space.
