PJM's Monitoring Unit Remains Independent: Report

Law360, New York (November 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An independent report that was prompted following internal conflicts at PJM Interconnection, which coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in more than a dozen states, has found that the organization’s market monitoring division is running smoothly despite some static.

The report by a special investigative panel was requested by PJM after the head of its Market Monitoring Unit, Joseph Bowring, denounced PJM management for meddling in the monitoring division’s activities and preventing it from issuing timely reports on electric markets.
