Outdoor Ad Cos.' Digital Billboard Permits Killed

Law360, New York (December 10, 2012, 11:22 PM EST) -- A California appeals court on Monday asked a lower court to revoke permits for digitizing billboards and affirmed that court’s voiding of a settlement between two outdoor advertising companies and the city of Los Angeles that had allowed the companies to digitize billboards.

A three-judge panel agreed with the lower court that the 2006 settlement allowing the digitization was a violation of municipal ordinances that bar such billboards from being altered or enlarged. The panel asked the lower court to order that the conversion permits granted...
