Tyco Loses $164M Appeal In Masimo Patent Case

Law360 (September 9, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Industrial conglomerate Tyco International Ltd. lost its appeal Thursday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in a $164 million patent lawsuit over healthcare devices.

The lawsuit, brought by boutique healthcare device company Masimo Corporation, had been appealed from U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where three out of four of Masimo’s patents for pulse oximeters were ruled valid and enforceable.
