Ex-NFL Commish Vacates Saints Players' Bounty Suspensions

Law360, New York (December 11, 2012, 4:56 PM EST) -- Former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue on Tuesday vacated suspensions levied against all four New Orleans Saints football players accused of participating in a scheme to collect money for injuring opposing players, but upheld misconduct findings issued by Commissioner Roger Goodell in October.

The NFL investigated Anthony Hargrove, Scott Fujita, Will Smith and Jonathan Vilma over their alleged involvement in a so-called bounty program during the 2009 through 2011 seasons that rewarded plays by Saints’ defensive players that rendered opposing players unable to play. There were also...
