Investigator Prison Bound For Info Theft In HP Leak Probe

Law360, New York (December 17, 2012, 1:31 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday sentenced a private investigator to three months in prison for stealing private information as part of an investigation into internal leaks at Hewlett Packard Co.

The sentencing came almost six years after Bryan Wagner pled guilty to an indictment charging him in connection with his use of “pretexting” to convince telephone companies to hand out personal information of a journalist and other individuals as part of his investigation into a string of company leaks.
