WaMu Units Escape From Insurers' MBS Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (December 17, 2012, 7:26 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Monday signed off on the dismissal of claims against two Washington Mutual Bank NA units in a wide-ranging suit brought by insurers accusing the companies and other financial institutions of lying about the quality of loans pooled in mortgage-backed securities they sold.

U.S. District Judge George B. Daniels ordered the action to be dismissed with prejudice as to Washington Mutual Mortgage Securities Corp. and WaMu Capital Corp. with each side bearing their own costs, expenses and attorneys' fees. No terms...
