Simpson Thacher Guides Nielsen's $1.3B Buy Of Arbitron

Law360, New York (December 18, 2012, 1:39 PM EST) -- Nielsen Holdings NV has inked a deal to pick up global media and marketing firm Arbitron Inc. for $1.3 billion, in a transaction that will significantly expand its radio outreach and data capabilities, the companies announced Tuesday.

Per the deal, Nielsen will pay $48 in cash for each Arbitron share and has secured financial commitments to back the acquisition, it said.
