General Mills' Steamers Not 100% Natural, Suit Claims

Law360, New York (December 18, 2012, 6:50 PM EST) -- General Mills Inc. was hit with a proposed class action in California federal court Friday saying the company misled consumers in violation of state consumer protection laws because its Green Giant 100% Natural Valley Fresh Steamers frozen vegetables are not, in fact, 100 percent natural.

Elizabeth Cox claims that the presence of genetically modified organisms, in the form of corn, soy, corn derivatives or soy derivatives, makes the labeling on these products false or misleading. Her suit alleges total class claims in excess of $5 million....
