Union Sues Pa. Over Lottery Privatization Plans

Law360, Philadelphia (December 18, 2012, 2:02 PM EST) -- A public sector union on Monday sued the state of Pennsylvania over its plans to privatize management of the state lottery, alleging that the governor does not have the authority to move forward with the plan without legislative approval.

In a complaint filed in the state’s Commonwealth Court, Council 13 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees contended that a proposed agreement to hand over managing responsibilities to Camelot Global Services PA LLC violated the state’s lottery law.
