Ex-Winston Atty Gets Probation For Starr Celebrity Fraud

Law360, New York (December 18, 2012, 5:08 PM EST) -- Former Winston & Strawn LLP partner Jonathan Bristol was sentenced to probation Tuesday for helping former money manager Kenneth Starr launder $19 million stolen from his celebrity clientele, dodging the stiff sentence prosecutors had requested.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Batts sentenced Bristol, 57, to three years' probation for using his attorney escrow accounts to help Starr conceal that he had misappropriated money from the celebrities whose wealth he managed, a group that included directors Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard, as well as actors Al Pacino and...
