Emma Thompson Prevails In 'Effie' Copyright Row

Law360, New York (December 18, 2012, 6:17 PM EST) -- Oscar-winning actress and writer Emma Thompson’s upcoming film “Effie” differs substantially from two screenplays written by a playwright who said the film infringed her copyrights, a New York federal judge ruled Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge J.
