Law360, New York (December 21, 2012, 6:00 PM EST) -- As he prepares to step down as director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement unit, Robert Khuzami is leaving behind a mixed legacy as a Wall Street beat cop whose crackdown on insider trading failed to satisfy critics with a thirst for bold financial crisis litigation.
Khuzami has informed the agency that he will leave as early as next month, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing a person familiar with the move. SEC spokeswoman Florence Harmon declined to comment Friday.
