Gov. Hits NCAA With Antitrust Suit Over Penn State Sanctions

Law360, Philadelphia (January 2, 2013, 5:03 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania's governor lashed out Wednesday at the National Collegiate Athletic Association with a lawsuit claiming the organization’s sanctions against Pennsylvania State University violated antitrust laws and would cause dire economic harm to both the school and the state’s citizens.

Gov. Tom Corbett blasted the sanctions levied on the university in response to the sexual abuse scandal surrounding former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, calling the measures an unprecedented break from prior NCAA policy.
