Shell Suit Restricted To U.S. Purchasers: Judge

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- European purchasers of Royal Dutch Shell Plc securities have recourse only to the $352.6 million settlement in the Netherlands should they wish to sue the energy company over its alleged fraud, after a U.S. federal court ruled that non-U.S. purchasers may not bring their action stateside.

Acting on a special master's recommendation, Judge Joel A. Pisano of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Thursday dismissed a proposed class of non-U.S. purchasers from a securities action against Royal Dutch.
