Google Escapes FTC Antitrust Case With Light Penalties

Law360, New York (January 3, 2013, 10:35 PM EST) -- Google Inc. has escaped the Federal Trade Commission's long-running investigation into claims it manipulated its search engine results to hamper rivals, and the narrow concessions it did agree to in Thursday's settlement left the antitrust agency sharply divided and prompted one competitor to slam the deal as a "missed opportunity."
