SEC Names Bingham Atty, Ex-CFTC Enforcement Chief As GC

Law360, Los Angeles (January 7, 2013, 4:22 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday announced the appointment of Bingham McCutchen LLP partner and former U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission enforcement chief Geoffrey F. Aronow as the agency's top lawyer.

Aronow, who works in Bingham’s Washington office, will start his new job as general counsel later this month, the SEC said. He replaces Mark Cahn, who left the commission last month to return to the private sector.
