Law360, New York (January 7, 2013, 1:46 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama on Sunday approved a multibillion-dollar boost in funds for flood insurance claims from Sandy, setting the stage for heated debate on reforming the government's troubled flood insurance program, attorneys said.

The president and Congress have greenlighted a temporary increase in the National Flood Insurance Program's borrowing authority from $20.7 billion to $30.4 billion.
