Wal-Mart May Face Wage Suit From Contracted Workers

Law360, New York (January 8, 2013, 8:35 PM EST) -- A California federal judge tentatively ruled Monday that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. may be added as a defendant in a putative class action brought by warehouse workers employed by labor contractors in the retail giants' distribution centers.

U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder released a tentative ruling granting the plaintiffs' bid to amend their complaint to include Wal-Mart among the defendants, saying Wal-Mart and the companies currently named in the suit had not established prejudice that would justify leave to amend the suit, which currently accuses staffing...
