Avon Hit With False Ad Suit Over Anti-Aging Product Claims

Law360, New York (January 9, 2013, 1:36 PM EST) -- A beauty products consumer lodged a proposed class action in New York federal court Tuesday accusing Avon Products Inc. of making false marketing claims and misleading scientific references about anti-aging creams and serums that fail to yield promised results.

Jade Barrett alleges that she was fooled by Avon's deceptive advertising messages for its Anew line of products guaranteeing a visible reduction in wrinkles and other age-negating effects.
