Barnes & Noble Must Hand Over Sales Info In Nook IP Suit

Law360, San Francisco (January 9, 2013, 9:37 PM EST) -- Barnes & Noble Inc. was ordered Wednesday to cough up information about sales of digital content on third-party e-readers in a legal battle over whether its Nook device infringes LSI Corp. patents on memory and music-chip technology.

U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler granted LSI's demand for documents detailing Barnes & Noble's sales of MP3 audiobooks for use on non-Nook devices, which LSI says are relevant to its patent on MP3 technology. The judge said the company was entitled to the information.
